Stereotypes and lenses
The "Unfair project"
For the "unfair Project" we took a picture with a wide lends that made our face wider. Then we thought of words to add to represent yourself. When we covered our faces with words we got a blank white paper and drew the outline of out faces then with a dark marker wrote the words down. When we felt we had it done we printed our faces with the colored printer and wrote the words with dark markers so you could see it clearly. I felt like it was a good thing to do because we got to create ourselves on paper.
We learned about different types of lens Critical races theory, Psychoanalysis, Marxism, Gender Theory, Feminism, Reader Response. We got the chance to write an essay through one of these lends. I choose to use the psychoanalysis because the essay was about the book In Cold Blood. It was a book about murder and mystery so I thought choosing psychoanalysis would fit perfectly because psychoanalysis is about getting into the mind of a murder and the book talked about the childhoods that they had. When writing about this lends I felt like it was hard to find how they live drifted so negativity. In the book there was two killers and they grew up in different situations.
Serial is a podcast that choose a case and broke it down with everything. We were blessed to have heard the full first season of it. The case was about a guy named Adan and he was convinced of a murder. This was no normal case because the murder theory didn't add up. I really didn't see how he was found guilty.
In cold blood is book by Capote, The book is about a murder that happend in Kansas he gives us as readers a lot of different perspectives and you really feel like you could think for yourself about the murders because we learn about there childhood. I really like how he wrote this book with a bunch of literary devices. I write an essay using psychoanalysis and It make it not to hard to write the essay because I wrote both there timelines and I could see how they stuck together for so long. I gained from doing the essay because I now know to keep in mind how every thing is playing out.
